Nuweiba is located 70 km south of Taba and 180 km north of Sharm el Sheikh and only 110 km from Saint Catherine. 
In Arabic, Nuweiba means, "bubbling springs". It is one of the big oases in South Sinai. Nuweiba is just recently discovered by tourist investors.
Nuweiba Tarabin, the northern part, with its thick grove of palms, a bay and the ruins of a Turkish fort. The well inside the ruins is a fresh water source for centuries.
Tarabin is famous for the lively oriental atmosphere. Restaurant next to restaurant and bazaar to bazaar gives you the impression of a vivid oriental market place.
Outdoors restaurants are furnished in Bedouin style with carpets and cushions that invite to lay back and relax.
The Dunes are the extension between Nuweiba Town and Nuweiba Muzeina. The Dunes are divided in two parts "Duna" and "Small Duna". Campsites and hotels are built in the southern "Small Duna". While the "Duna" stayed a romantic virgin place with its simple accommodation of bungalows and some small restaurants with magnificent views.
Nuweiba Port or Nuweiba Muzeina is the industrial area of Nuweiba. Egyptians came to live in Nuweiba as work flourished.
